Ash began cosmetology school in 2020 and faced a series of early setbacks. After being dismissed from three different salons, where they told her she had no worth in the industry, didn’t work hard enough, and doesn’t have determination, she took a position at Ulta Beauty.
After 6 months she was able to advance to a Master Stylist, her first win after a year and a half in the industy.
Following a particularly difficult day at work, she made a dumb move: she left to start her own business. No money saved and no plan at all. It had always been her goal, and she chose to pursue it without waiting for ideal circumstances.
Within two months of opening, she was awarded Best Salon in Round Rock. Three months later, one of her videos went viral, reaching over one million views in 12 hours.
Meet Ash
Since then, she has developed a strong reputation for alternative hair artistry, focusing on helping clients express their individuality through designs that reflect their identity and personal style.
After a year of being solo in her own suite, Ash was driven by her need to change the unsupportive and toxic workplace, and to help uplift stylists, instead of rip them apart.
Ash and her mom decided they were going to change the entire industry as a whole. From this, they opened Myrna Rose Salon, housed in Hutto’s historic 1908 Mauritz Mansion.
Built on respect, care, and shared standards. Myrna Rose believes that amazing work can happen when talented people are given the right setting, the right support, and the freedom to operate by their own standards.
Amidst all the chaos of opening a salon, Ashlyn also became a mother to a wonderful baby girl, and is currently learning how to manage motherhood, and a salon full of stylists.
Ash is currently accepting appointments at Myrna Rose Salon in Hutto, and she continues to deliver customized, alternative color services to clients seeking something distinctive.
